Dr Ayoub Al- Jawaldeh, Jordan National born on 19 February 1960, He is an International expert in Nutrition, holding PhD in Nutrition from Khartoum University in 2000, MSc, Post Graduate Diploma , and BSc in Nutrition and Food Technology from Jordan University in 1993, 1987, and 1982, respectively. He was associated with Vienna University from 2011 – 2021, teaching a course for graduate students namely “International Nutrition policy: Theory and Implementation”
He is working with the World Health Organization as a Regional Adviser in Nutrition in the Eastern Mediterranean Region since 2009 until now. Before that, he was working with the United Nations World Food Programme for about 20 years as Deputy Country Director, Head of Programmes and International Expert in many countries i.e. Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan, Sudan, Malawi, and Iraq. He started his career in Jordan as clinical dietitian in Queen Alia Heart Center / King Hussein Medical City for two years; and as Food Quality Control Officer at Ministry of Trade and Supply in Jordan for five years.
He is a programme manager who simultaneously manages multiple international executive functions including nutrition policies and strategies, research and capacity building programme; addressing double burden of malnutrition, including maternal and child nutrition, diet related risk factors for non-communicable diseases, and nutrition for emergencies in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. He was awarded by many International and national Organizations
